Update

After months in the making, Jeremy Palmer finally released his Black Ink Project 2 course to the public. Get all of the details on the Black Ink Project 2 Homepage.

Jeremy Palmers Black Ink Project: Review of Day 9

This is the ninth installment of Jeremy Palmers Black Ink Project series.

In this series, I will be reporting on my participation in Jeremy Palmers Black Ink Project webinar training course.

Each day, I will post the topic from the previous day’s session and will share at least one important idea that I took away from the session. These posts are intended as an overview of the webinars and NOT to replace participation in them.

Background

For those of you that don’t know him, Jeremy Palmer is the author of the(now free)mega-hit ebook called “High Performance Affiliate Marketing“. In this book, he details how he went from barely showing a profit to a super-affiliate.

Today’s Topic: Making Your Site Dynamic and Fresh

This session focused on using datafeeds with your website to generate a large amount of regularly updated product information.

Here are the areas covered:

  1. What is a datafeed?
  2. Why use a datafeed?
  3. What is the best way to use a datafeed?
  4. Where can you get datafeeds?
  5. Are they expensive to get?
  6. What are some of the formats they come in?
  7. What is Navicat?
  8. How do I use Navicat to set up and maintain my datafeed?
  9. Using Adobe Dreamweaver to import my datafeed into my website.
  10. Where can I go to learn more?

Sign up at http://www.theblackinkproject.com for all of the slides, recordings and other visuals.

Highlights

In today’s session, we watched a pre-recorded Camtasia video showing us first how to use Navicat to create and build our datafeed database. He finished by using Adobe Dreamweaver to import that data into our website.

Jeremy then answered questions about the video for almost an hour.

My Top Take-Away

Unless you have time and some programming skills, using Adobe Dreamweaver to import datafeed data into your website is the quickest and easiest way. If you plan on using datafeeds on your website, it would pay for itself after the first project.

Tomorrow’s Topic: Landing Page Design

I’m hoping Jeremy will run another “class” in the future when things have settle down for me. Ha! Or maybe when I’m better able to focus would be a more honest hope. Great post. Again.

    Hi Deb,

    Thanks for your kind words.

Don’t forget that all of this course is available for download and viewing at your convenience.

Maybe when things settle down a bit you’ll get a chance to set aside a little time each day for it.

    You’ll be glad you did.

    Best,

    Jeff
