Update
After months in the making, Jeremy Palmer finally released his Black Ink Project 2 course to the public. Get all of the details on the Black Ink Project 2 Homepage.
Jeremy Palmers Black Ink Project: Review of Day 8
This is the eighth installment of Jeremy Palmers Black Ink Project series.
In this series, I will be reporting on my participation in Jeremy Palmers Black Ink Project webinar training course.
Each day, I will post the topic from the previous day’s session and will share at least one important idea that I took away from the session. These posts are intended as an overview of the webinars and NOT to replace participation in them.
Background
For those of you that don’t know him, Jeremy Palmer is the author of the(now free)mega-hit ebook called “High Performance Affiliate Marketing“. In this book, he details how he went from barely showing a profit to a super-affiliate.
Today’s Topic: Concept To Construction
Today’s session was both lecture and demonstration of using software tools to get your wireframe mockup into the form of a real website.
Sign up at http://www.theblackinkproject.com for all of the slides, recordings and other visuals.
He will also be releasing a special video next week detailing the steps he demonstrated in today’s webinar.
Highlights
The main thrust of this session was to show us how we could use Adobe Fireworks for laying out our website and exporting to Adobe Dreamweaver to get and modify the final code.
If you click on either of those links you will also be able to find a ton of articles and videos about both products on the Adobe site.
Jeremy mentioned that Adobe was sponsoring the webinar series and has provided a prize for a contest he will be running shortly. However, he does NOT endorse the method he demonstrated today as the ONLY way to build a website.
That’s good to know because these tools are not in my current budget.
My Top Take-Away
I realize that he has been working with these tools for a long time. Seeing the ease by which you can slice up the web page areas in Fireworks, get the look you’re going for, save it and export it to Dreamweaver was powerful.
I realized then buying these tools and learning to use them as quickly as possible would save me tons of time, money and aggravation in the future. They would pay for themselves after the first project.
