The last survey I did for one of my lists was done on SurveyMonkey. I put together ten multiple choice questions and one fill in the blank. It took me almost two hours to complete!
That is all about to change…
Aweber and Google have announced that you can now quickly create a customized survey in Google Documents and, by copying and pasting a link into an autoresponder message, send it out to your list in a flash. Then, you can go back to your Google Documents account and analyze the results that are pre-filled into a spreadsheet.
All this now comes standard with every Aweber account.
This is great news for anybody who is trying to cultivate a relationship with their list without having to set up an account expressly for that purpose.
Plus, as you’ll see in the following video, you can produce one of these on the fly when you get the inspiration and not wait for your curiosity to go stale.
Check out their article and video here.
This is a great example of what can be accomplished when companies start by thinking “How can I make my product more valuable to my customers?”
Ever since I signed up for Aweber, I have been consistently impressed by how hard they work to build value into any project they take on.
Does this seem like something you’ll be able to use to help grow your business? Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the video and info about using Aweber and Google docs for surveys. How long ago did you make this video? None of the button appear in Google docs when I go to share my spreadsheet. Have things changed recently?
Thanks!
Danny
Hi Danny,
This post is from February 2008. The video referenced was made by Aweber. I’m sure their service has gone through many changes since this was made. Probably too numerous to list. Hope this helps. Sorry I don’t have more info for you.
Jeff
Hello,
Make no mistake about it, creating a site you are passionate about will require some amount of work. However, when you’re engaged in a project you’re really interested in, the work seems like play. The main thing you need to do is to find a topic you really care and want to help people with. Here Both Michael Hyatt (michaelhyatt.com) and Entrepreneur On Fire (entrepreneuronfire.com) have free videos on how to set up a WordPress site from getting your domain to publishing your site. The site can be set up in under 20 minutes but the research to find that niche is a little more involved.
Two excellent resources for figuring this out are the SmartPassiveIncome.com and InternetBusinessMastery.com sites.
Good luck and let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.
Jeff
